I am so. freaking. STOKED. I have my first show in Houston tomorrow night! This is something that I initially added to my goals for 2011. Instead, I got swept up taking my art in a totally new direction that year. I’ve spent the past two years developing and honing that style and added a Houston show back to my goal list for 2013. I couldn’t have found a better show to meet this. It’s truly going to be a *killer* show!!! Julie Zarate has curated a fantastic lineup of national artists all creating interpretive works based on films by Directors:

• Wes Anderson
• Coen Brothers
• Federico Fellini
• Terry Gilliam
• Jim Jarmusch
• Jean-Pierre Jeunet
• Alejandro Jodorowsky
• Stanley Kubrick
• Akira Kurosawa
• David Lynch
• John Waters

With the help of Brian, I spent weeks steeping in Lynch. Both of my pieces are inspired by his work: One from the cult television series Twin Peaks. The other from the film Lost Highway. I’m so pleased with these and so proud that this will be my first Houston show. I’m holding off on releasing images of the pieces until after the opening! I promise I will, though! Can’t wait to see the show! Squee!!!
